TakeFlight Interactive to Deliver AI-Enabled Mixed-Reality Crew Resource Management Training for U.S. Navy TH-73A Part Task Trainers

Redmond, WA, May 15, 2026 — TakeFlight Interactive, a leader in immersive aviation training technologies, announced it has been awarded $5 million in U.S. Navy contracts to deliver an advanced AI-enabled, mixed-reality (MR) training solution for the TH-73A Part Task Trainer.

This new capability will integrate TakeFlight Interactive’s immersive instructional technologies into the rotary-wing training environment, enabling student pilots to learn and practice procedures, maneuvers, and communication skills in highly-repeatable interactive scenarios.

The solution also includes an innovative Crew Resource Management (CRM) training capability. TakeFlight’s Virtual Instructor technology can play the role of the Pilot Flying, or Pilot Not Flying, to train multi-crew operations in an efficient, single-student training environment.

“Military aviation demands exceptional crew coordination and decision-making under pressure”, said Brandon Seltz, CEO of TakeFlight Interactive. “We are honored to continue supporting the U.S. Navy with next-generation training technologies, now including communications for the multi-crew environment. We are also excited to partner with industry leaders Frasca and ASTi to deliver a fully-integrated, cutting-edge training capability.”

TakeFlight Interactive will serve as the prime contractor, leading development and integration efforts in partnership with Frasca International, Inc. who will deliver the simulation technology and Advanced Simulation Technology inc. (ASTi) who will provide the Simulated ATC Environment. Together, the team will deliver an advanced multi-crew training capability. The system is designed to improve training effectiveness while reducing overall training costs.

In addition to its defense applications, TakeFlight Interactive sees significant opportunity to deploy its multi-crew training technologies within the commercial aviation sector. The company is actively seeking airline partners to help shape these new technologies for commercial training.
